Park Medi World made a muted entry into the stock market on December 16, with its shares listing at a discount despite strong investor interest during its IPO.
On the BSE, the stock opened at ₹155.60 per share, nearly 4% lower than its IPO price of ₹162. At this level, the company’s market capitalisation stood at around ₹6,721 crore.
On the NSE, the shares fared slightly better, debuting at ₹158.80, a discount of about 2% to the issue price.

Strong IPO Demand, Weak Listing
The subdued listing came as a surprise to many, especially since the company’s ₹920-crore IPO received an enthusiastic response from investors. The issue, which was open for subscription from December 10 to 12, was subscribed more than eight times overall.
Ahead of listing, Park Medi World’s shares were trading at a small premium in the grey market, indicating expectations of a positive debut. However, that optimism faded closer to listing day, with grey market premiums dropping sharply from earlier highs.
IPO Structure and Use of Funds
The IPO consisted of a fresh issue worth ₹770 crore and an offer for sale of ₹150 crore by promoter Ajit Gupta. The price band for the issue was fixed at ₹154–₹162 per share, with a minimum application size of 92 shares.
The company plans to use a large portion of the funds to reduce debt, allocating about ₹380 crore toward repayment of borrowings. Additional funds will be used for:
- Developing a new hospital in the NCR region
- Purchasing medical equipment
- Exploring inorganic growth opportunities
- General corporate purposes
About Park Medi World
Park Medi World operates hospitals under the Park Hospital brand and is currently the second-largest private hospital chain in North India, with a capacity of around 3,000 beds. It is also the largest private hospital network in Haryana, with about 1,600 beds.
The group runs 14 multi-specialty hospitals, most of which are accredited by NABH, reflecting a focus on quality and compliance. Analysts note that the company’s long-term strategy centres on attracting experienced doctors and expanding its hospital network steadily.

What Should Investors Expect?
Market experts believe the IPO valuation was reasonable and suggest that the stock may be better suited for long-term investors rather than short-term listing gains. While the debut disappointed, the company’s fundamentals and healthcare demand outlook remain areas to watch in the coming months.
