IndiGo Announces ₹10,000 ‘Gesture of Care’ Vouchers: Eligibility, Benefits and How to Claim

Date:

India’s largest airline IndiGo has rolled out a special goodwill initiative called the ‘Gesture of Care’ offer, under which eligible passengers can receive travel vouchers worth ₹10,000. The move is aimed at reassuring and supporting customers affected by recent operational disruptions.

What is the ‘Gesture of Care’ Offer?

Under this initiative, IndiGo is providing non-transferable travel vouchers that can be used for future bookings on the airline. The vouchers are meant as a one-time goodwill compensation rather than a cash refund.

Who Is Eligible?

Passengers may qualify for the ₹10,000 voucher if they:

  • Faced significant delays, cancellations, or disruptions on select IndiGo flights
  • Were impacted during the airline’s notified disruption window
  • Booked tickets directly or through authorised platforms (subject to verification by IndiGo)

Eligibility is determined internally by IndiGo based on booking details and flight impact, so not all disrupted passengers may automatically qualify.

How to Claim the Voucher

Eligible customers do not need to apply separately in most cases. IndiGo will:

  1. Notify eligible passengers directly via registered email or SMS
  2. Share voucher details and validity once eligibility is confirmed
  3. Allow vouchers to be redeemed while booking flights on IndiGo’s website or app

Passengers who believe they are eligible but haven’t received communication can reach out to IndiGo’s customer support with their PNR and registered contact details.

Key Things to Know

  • Vouchers are valid only on IndiGo flights
  • They must be used within the specified validity period
  • Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash
  • Fare differences, if any, must be paid by the passenger

Why IndiGo Rolled This Out

The airline said the initiative reflects its commitment to customer care and trust, especially during periods of operational strain. With rising passenger volumes and tighter schedules, IndiGo’s move is seen as an effort to maintain goodwill and long-term loyalty.

For passengers planning future travel, the ₹10,000 voucher could significantly reduce ticket costs—making this gesture a meaningful relief rather than a symbolic one.
