After more than four years of renovation, the integrated bus terminus on Ranipet‑Walajah Main Road was opened for public use ahead of Deepavali. The project, costing ₹13.55 crore, was carried out by Ranipet municipality under the Kalaignar Nagarpura Membattu Thittam 2022‑23 scheme, which targets infrastructure gaps in urban local bodies. The original terminus, built over five decades ago, had limited facilities for commuters.

S. Kumar, a commuter, said the restored terminus now offers better seating and safety features, helping people board long‑distance buses. D. Senthil Kumar, Commissioner of Ranipet municipality, noted that the new facility will aid commuters—especially women and senior citizens—by providing round‑the‑clock surveillance, a help desk, and improved safety.

Collector N. Priya Ravichandran inspected the terminus with transport and municipal officials. The upgraded terminus will serve routes to Bengaluru, Vellore, Vandavasi, Cheyyar, Chengam, Arcot, Ranipet, Coimbatore, Salem, Kancheepuram, Hosur, and Dharmapuri.

Amenities include a purified drinking water facility, solar‑powered LED streetlights, digital timing boards, a feeding room, a police booth, and CCTV cameras. A police outpost is planned for the near future.

On average, more than 200 Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation buses operate daily from the terminus. Commuters have requested additional services to Tiruvannamalai, Sholinghur, Arcot, Gingee, and Kancheepuram.
