Google is set to bring its screenless Fitbit Air fitness tracker to India in October 2026. The company confirmed the India launch during its recent Pixel event, although it has not yet announced the exact release date, official price or sales details for the country.
The Fitbit Air takes a different approach from traditional smartwatches and fitness bands. It does not have a display, apps or on-wrist notifications. Instead, the lightweight wearable continuously records health and fitness data, which users can view through the Google Health app on a connected smartphone.
Weighing around 12 grams with its band, the Fitbit Air is designed to be worn throughout the day and night. Its screen-free construction is intended to reduce distractions and notification fatigue while allowing users to monitor important health indicators in the background.
The tracker supports continuous heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, blood oxygen monitoring and heart-rate variability measurements. It can also detect workouts automatically and provide alerts linked to irregular heart rhythms, including possible signs of atrial fibrillation. The device is supported by Google’s Health Coach, which uses collected activity and health data to provide personalised guidance.
Battery life is rated at up to seven days on a single charge, although actual performance may vary depending on usage and settings. Google also says that a short five-minute charge can provide enough power for approximately one day. This feature could be particularly useful for people who use the tracker while sleeping and do not want to remove it frequently for charging.
The Fitbit Air is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones. Users will need the Google Health app and a Google Account to set up the device and access their health insights. The absence of a screen means that most detailed information will be available only through the companion app.
The tracker was introduced in international markets in May at a starting price of $99.99, which is approximately ₹9,400 to ₹9,500 based on direct currency conversion. However, Google has not confirmed the India price. Unofficial listings on e-commerce platforms have shown higher prices, but those figures should not be treated as official retail pricing.
Google is expected to reveal the India-specific price, colour options, exact availability and sales channels closer to the October launch. The Fitbit Air could appeal to users who want continuous health tracking without the distractions and bulk of a conventional smartwatch.
With its compact design, week-long battery life and focus on passive monitoring, the Fitbit Air will enter India as a distinct alternative to screen-based wearables. The final price will likely determine how competitive it becomes in the country’s growing fitness-tracker market.
