Sangram Singh Knocks Out Pakistan’s Abid Ali in 80 Seconds to Win Asia MMA Title

Indian mixed martial arts fighter Sangram Singh delivered one of the fastest and most decisive victories of his career by knocking out Pakistan’s Mohammed Abid Ali in just one minute and 20 seconds to capture the STRIKE Asia Championship title in Kuala Lumpur. The highly anticipated India-Pakistan contest ended almost as soon as it began, with Sangram controlling the fight from the opening bell and using his strength, timing and wrestling background to overwhelm his opponent. The victory made him the first Indian reported to have won the STRIKE Asia Championship and extended his unbeaten professional MMA record to four consecutive wins. It was also Sangram’s second victory over a Pakistani opponent, following his professional MMA debut against Ali Raza Nasir in Georgia in 2024, which he won in around 90 seconds. Since moving from professional wrestling into MMA later in his sporting career, Sangram has continued to defy expectations, recording victories in Georgia, the Netherlands, Argentina and now Malaysia. Before the Asia-title contest, he had defeated French fighter Florian Coudier in one minute and 45 seconds in Buenos Aires, building momentum for his biggest championship opportunity. Following the win over Abid Ali, Sangram dedicated the title to the people of India and said he carries the country’s pride whenever he competes internationally.
