Pascal Gross laughed off speculation that Brighton & Hove Albion are in the Premier League title race, but his decisive penalty helped the Seagulls climb to second place with a 2‑0 victory over Brentford. Gross sent the ball into the top corner to complement Diego Gomez’s opening goal. The second half was routine as Albion returned home after a stretch of five long‑haul away matches. Gross told Sky Sports, "No, we are not in a title race. But we have started the season really well. It’s the beginning of the season. You see the Premier League, the margins, you look at the results – we are not getting carried away yet." The win comes as Albion head into the international break with a squad that has many players on duty and others regaining fitness after injury. They will resume play with a trip to Hull City on Sunday, November 22, beginning a demanding schedule of 14 games in 45 days.
