Judi Dench says that Daniel Craig was the one who decided to kill her character, M, in the James Bond series. In her memoir *Is It Too Late to Make a Run for It?*, Dench recounts learning that her role would be written out in *Skyfall*. She describes a meeting at the Wolseley restaurant with Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson and Sam Mendes, where they explained the plot and told her she would be removed. Dench writes that she did not cry at the news, noting her 20 years and eight Bond films, one more than Roger Moore. She states that it was Craig’s idea to have her killed. Craig also reportedly asked to kill off Bond himself at the end of the fourth film, and he is said to have wanted M removed as well. The memoir does not mention any objections from Broccoli. The book presents these events as facts from Dench’s perspective.}
