Karnataka CM Criticizes BJP Leaders for Claiming Credit Over Modi’s Bengaluru Metro Visit

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said on Friday that certain BJP leaders were attempting to claim credit for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bengaluru on November 13 to inaugurate the metro Pink Line, despite the Prime Minister arriving on an official invitation from the state government. Shivakumar, who did not name BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, accused the leaders of seeking publicity by asserting they were responsible for arranging the visit. Speaking to media in Kanakapura, he questioned why the BJP leaders were seeking publicity for an event they had no involvement in. “We are developing the metro network by borrowing money. I will present some of these issues before the Prime Minister on November 13,” he said. The statement was published on November 7, 2026 at 12:55 am IST.
