Karnataka Governor Orders Comprehensive Review of Public Universities
Sudha Yadav, Governor of Karnataka and Chancellor of the state’s universities, has instructed all public universities to conduct a thorough review of their operations and identify areas needing improvement. She directed every Vice‑Chancellor to prepare and submit a detailed report covering the current status of their institutions, key achievements, challenges, shortcomings, and specific improvement measures. Addressing Vice‑Chancellors and officials from the Karnataka State Higher Education Council at Lok Bhavan, the Governor stressed the importance of enhancing quality, transparency, accountability, and overall performance across the state’s universities. She highlighted the need for effective implementation of the National Education Policy and the State Education Policy, stronger coordination between industry and universities, and a focus on skill development, research, innovation, and employability. The Governor urged Vice‑Chancellors and the Karnataka State Higher Education Council to collaborate closely to strengthen Karnataka’s higher education system.
