By M. Rajeev

The Invest Telangana Global Summit – 2026 will host a special event, the Telangana Climate Conclave, on December 8, the second day of the summit. The conclave will bring together nearly 200 scientists, experts from related fields, and farmers to discuss agricultural patterns that can withstand droughts, animal husbandry, drinking water security, biodiversity, waste conversion, and other topics. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has called for an exclusive discussion on climate change and the challenges posed by El Niño during the global summit. The goal is to plan short‑ and long‑term measures to tackle climate‑change problems and to develop a special action plan for environmental changes.

During a meeting with senior officials on Thursday, the Chief Minister reviewed the arrangements for the summit and made several suggestions. A liaison officer will be appointed for each participant, and registration and pass issuance will be completed upon arrival at the airport. Participants will receive detailed information about the summit proceedings in advance, and steps will be taken to ensure they are not inconvenienced. Security officials will also be appointed, and elaborate arrangements will be made. Special invitations will be sent to companies that have expressed interest in investing in the state. Officials were directed to finalize a comprehensive plan for the event by November 15.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that extensive arrangements are underway, including the setup of additional halls for exhibitions. Programs related to investments, modern technology, innovations, and job opportunities will be prioritized, along with arrangements for the success of various exhibitions. The Raksha Expo, an exclusive defence exhibition, will showcase the latest defence developments, aerospace and cyber‑security aspects, drones, and robotics.

Of the 575 firms invited to attend the summit, 49 have expressed interest. Special arrangements are being made for animation, visual effects, gaming, and related fields, and an exclusive pavilion is being set up for start‑ups. The Telangana Innovation Challenge, part of the event, will invite technological solutions in agriculture, health, protection of government lands, and basic amenities. Applications for the challenge will be accepted until November 20.

The Chief Minister also emphasized a special focus on the tourism sector and urged steps to showcase measures initiated for education, research, and skill development, modeled on “Education to Harvard.”
