Dabur CEO Mohit Malhotra Resigns After 30 Years, No Interim Appointed

Dabur India announced on Wednesday that its global chief executive officer, Mohit Malhotra, will step down effective November 13. Malhotra, who has been with the consumer‑goods company for more than three decades, said in a letter to Chairman Mohit Burman that he has accepted a leadership role overseas, effective 16 November 2026. He believes the timing is right for a new challenge.

Malhotra had been reappointed as Dabur’s CEO in August 2023 for a five‑year term ending 30 January 2029, but in February this year he was named global CEO while Herjit Bhalla took charge of the India business. Dabur has not named an interim replacement for Malhotra. The company said that existing whole‑time director P. D. Narang will continue to guide the group’s businesses, including its international operations, which account for 30% of revenue.

The company also reported that its quarterly profit for the second quarter ended 30 September rose nearly 12% to 5.06 billion rupees ($53.43 million), beating analysts’ expectations of 4.98 billion rupees. Total revenue increased 12% to 35.63 billion rupees, with the consumer‑care segment, known for Odomos mosquito repellent and Odonil air freshener, up 11% year‑on‑year. Dabur shares closed about 4% higher ahead of the results and the resignation announcement, despite having lost a quarter of their value over the past year.
