By Payal Dhawan

A 50‑year‑old pick‑up van driver, Ravinder Singh, was taken into custody by Dugri police after allegedly stabbing his 49‑year‑old wife, Kamaldeep Kaur, to death in their Vikas Nagar home on Pakhowal Road. Police say Singh, who had just returned to India from Australia two days earlier, stabbed Kaur multiple times in the stomach and neck with a kitchen knife. Before the act, he sent their elder son, Gagandeep Singh, to the market for milk. Gagandeep returned to find his father running out of the house and later discovered his mother lying on the bed in a pool of blood. He alerted neighbors and the woman was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Inspector Gurmukh Singh, SHO of Dugri police station, stated that the motive appears to be a suspicion of infidelity. A murder case has been registered and Singh is being interrogated.
