BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Suppressing Priyanka Gandhi at Ramlila Maidan Rally

BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari on Sunday alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi deliberately prevented his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, from speaking at the INDIA bloc rally held on Saturday at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. Bhandari said that Priyanka, who has served as the party’s General Secretary, was kept in the background during the mock parliament exercise and was not allowed to speak. He claimed that during the event, Priyanka’s chair was placed in the second row and she was denied a speaking slot. Bhandari argued that these actions reflected growing divisions within the Congress, with the Rahul and Priyanka camps competing for influence. He accused Rahul of prioritising sidelining his sister over addressing national issues, stating that the party is now split into two factions. The BJP’s criticism came after Rahul Gandhi led the INDIA bloc rally, where he criticised the Election Commission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over alleged electoral irregularities and threatened legal action against them. The rally was attended by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, among others.
