Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha has arrived in theatres, marking a major new chapter for Aditya Chopra’s YRF Spy Universe as the franchise introduces its first female-led spy action film. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film places Alia and Sharvari at the centre of a high-stakes espionage story filled with action, emotional tension, twists and large-scale spectacle. The movie also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in key roles, with Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Sangay Tsheltrim adding to the supporting cast. One of the biggest talking points around Alpha is Hrithik Roshan’s return as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, whose cameo has already created strong excitement among fans of the larger spy franchise. The film is the seventh instalment in the YRF Spy Universe after titles such as Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2, making it an important bridge between old franchise favourites and a new generation of agents. Early audience reactions highlighted the film’s action sequences, production scale, background score, visual appeal and the chemistry between Alia and Sharvari, while many viewers also praised the film’s attempt to put women at the centre of a mainstream action franchise without reducing them to side characters. Ahead of release, Alpha reportedly collected ₹3.06 crore through Day 1 advance bookings, with the figure rising to ₹5.39 crore including blocked seats, showing healthy pre-release curiosity. The film also sold more than 89,000 tickets in advance for its opening day, giving it a solid start at the box office. With its spy-universe connection, star power, Hrithik Roshan cameo and strong action positioning, Alpha has become one of the most closely watched Bollywood releases of the season. Its opening weekend performance will now show whether the franchise’s first female-led chapter can turn strong buzz into sustained box-office momentum.
