Revanth Reddy Criticizes KT Rama Rao Over Sister’s Displacement
By Karan Manral

NEW DELHI – Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy criticized Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday, alleging that Rao had forced his sister out of the party because she was unwilling to share family property. The remarks were made during a meeting of women Self‑Help Group members in Reddy’s assembly constituency of Kodangal. PTI quoted Reddy as saying, ‘I am trying to show my gratitude to you by distributing “Indiramma” sarees as a brother’s gift. But, see KTR. Not ready to share family property, he drove his sister out of the home. The sister who returned after serving a jail term, facing cases.’ Reddy did not name the sister, but the Congress leader was referring to KT Rama Rao’s sister, K Kavitha, who was jailed in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Kavitha was suspended from the BRS in September 2025 and launched her own political outfit, the Telangana Rakshana Sena, in April 2026. Reddy further said that regardless of Kavitha’s ‘mistake’, KT Rama Rao should have looked after his sister following her release from jail. He added, ‘Whatever her mistake, he should take care of his sister when she returns home after spending six months in jail. But is there anyone else on earth, except KCR’s son, who drove his own sister out of the house, accusing her of committing mistakes and selling liquor?’ Reddy was referring to former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, father of KT Rama Rao and K Kavitha. Referring to KT Rama Rao’s remarks on the BRS working for women’s welfare, Reddy questioned their credibility in light of his alleged treatment of his sister. Without naming Kavitha, the chief minister also claimed that she herself had made critical remarks against her brother. Taking aim at K Chandrashekar Rao, Reddy argued that a father should advise his son to take care of his sister, accusing the former chief minister of failing to do so. ‘The person who cannot teach good things to his family members, will he do good to four crore Telangana people?’ he questioned. Reddy also accused K Chandrashekar Rao of treating Telangana ‘unfairly’ during his 10‑year tenure as chief minister.
