Tim Cook Shares Diwali Photo Captured on iPhone 18 Pro Max
Photo: Tim Cook's post also put the spotlight on the iPhone 18 Pro Max's camera capabilities, with the Apple executive chairman once again using a photograph taken by an iPhone user to mark an important occasion.

Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook posted a Diwali greeting on X, wishing people worldwide a happy festival. The post included a festive photo of a glowing diya, shot on the iPhone 18 Pro Max by photographer Gursimran Basra. Cook’s message read: “Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating around the world! Other features include 4× optical zoom (8× optical‑quality) on the telephoto lens, a 120‑degree ultra‑wide view, Night Mode, advanced portrait and macro capabilities, Pro controls, Photographic Styles 3, ProRAW, Smart HDR 5, Deep Fusion and the Photonic Engine.

Video options include 4K Dolby Vision up to 120 fps, ProRes up to 4K 120 fps with external recording, ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, Genlock, Cinematic and Action modes, spatial video, macro video and Dual Capture. The front camera is an 18‑MP Center Stage unit with autofocus, improved low‑light video and 4K Dolby Vision up to 60 fps.

Under the hood, the phone runs the A20 Pro chip with a six‑core CPU, seven‑core GPU, dual 16‑core Neural Engine and a new vapor‑chamber cooling system. The 6.9‑inch display supports ProMotion up to 120 Hz, Always‑On, and Dynamic Island. Apple claims up to 34 hours of video playback on the iPhone 18 Pro and 43 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
