All Blacks Overcome Scotland with Seven Tries in Nations Championship
By Alan Brown

The All Blacks defeated Scotland 43-21 in the Nations Championship match, with seven tries scored by New Zealand. The game was closely contested at half‑time, with Scotland leading 24-21 after two All Blacks sin‑bins. Scotland’s penalties and inability to breach the All Blacks’ defence limited their scoring. A key turnover by centre Quinn Tupaea in the second half helped extend New Zealand’s lead. Fullback Beauden Barrett, who scored his 50th Test try, was instrumental in the attack. Lock Fabian Holland and flanker Tupou Vaa’i dominated the lineouts, while the front row controlled the scrums. Scotland’s captain Sione Tuipulotu received a yellow card at 51 minutes, after which the All Blacks capitalised on a penalty and scored another try through Barrett, extending their advantage to 36-21. Barrett also made a decisive defensive play in the 56th minute to stop a Scottish attack. Tupaea’s tackle and turnover led to a lineout that resulted in a try by replacement hooker Asafo Aumua. New Zealand’s seven tries were scored by Wallace Sititi, Ethan de Groot, Codie Taylor, Beauden Barrett (two), Josh Moorby, and Asafo Aumua. Scotland’s tries were scored by Ewan Ashman (three) and Finn Russell was held to three conversions. The match featured 143 tackles by Scotland versus 132 by New Zealand, and a breakdown advantage of 109-86 for the All Blacks. The final score was 43-21 in favour of New Zealand.
