Former Tech Mahindra Executive Killed in Faridabad Shooting; Son Escapes by Hiding Behind Cars

A 42‑year‑old former regional business head of Tech Mahindra’s Asia‑Pacific region, Paramjeet Dhankar, was shot dead in Faridabad on Friday night after an argument over vehicle parking. Dhankar, who lived with his wife, son and daughter on the first floor of house number 641, was returning from the gym at about 8 pm when the dispute with neighbour Mohan alias Monu Sharma escalated. Sharma, a 44‑year‑old scrap dealer who lives on the third floor of the same building, allegedly pulled out his licensed pistol and fired 14‑15 rounds. Nine bullets are believed to have struck Dhankar, who died on the spot. Sharma also fired at Dhankar’s son, Shaurya, who survived by taking cover behind parked cars. Police arrested Sharma from DLF Chowk in Ballabgarh on Saturday. The shooting followed a long‑running dispute between the families over parking and a pet dog, which had led to repeated arguments. Five days before the incident, Sharma had allegedly abused Dhankar’s son, and a few days earlier the families had approached the police with a complaint that was later settled. Dhankar had returned from Singapore, where he was employed as senior vice‑president of FPT Software Company Limited, to attend his nephew’s wedding in Faridabad two days before the shooting. He had previously served as regional business head of Tech Mahindra’s Asia‑Pacific region and was originally from Hisar.
