Haas to Replace Ocon with F2 Champion Camara at Sao Paulo Grand Prix

Haas confirmed that Esteban Ocon will not race for the team again this season. Formula 2 championship leader Rafael Camara, a Ferrari Academy driver, will make his Formula 1 debut at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, partnering Ollie Bearman. Ocon was dropped midway through the last round in Mexico and was replaced by Ryo Hirakawa from Saturday onwards. Hirakawa, who finished 10th in Mexico, is also competing in the World Endurance Championship this weekend in Italy. Haas announced last month that Ocon would leave the team at the end of the season after two years, with Camara signed as his 2027 replacement. The team’s statement read: “TGR Haas F1 team can confirm that Esteban Ocon will no longer compete on its behalf in the 2026 FIA Formula 1 world championship.” Team principal Ayao Komatsu said the decision was an internal matter and that it was made in the best interest of the team. Haas has not yet confirmed drivers for the final three races in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The Sao Paulo Grand Prix will run from Thursday 5 pm to Sunday 8 pm, with practice, qualifying and the race scheduled as per the official programme.
