Agriculture Minister P. M. Narendraswamy confirmed on Friday that the Krishi Mela at the Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra (GKVK) in Bengaluru will be held for three days this year, as it has in previous years. He said that although drought conditions in the state had prompted discussions about limiting the event to a single day, the decision was made to keep the three‑day format. The extended schedule will allow farmers to learn about agricultural innovations and drought‑management strategies. Narendraswamy also noted that a three‑day Krishi Mela will be held in Mandya, and that similar events have already taken place at the Universities of Agriculture Sciences in Shivamogga and Dharwad, providing thousands of farmers with information on new crop varieties, technologies, and drought‑management methods.
