During the first ODI between India and New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland, Virat Kohli welcomed Glenn Phillips to the crease with a playful John Cena‑style gesture. In the 15th over, as Phillips walked to bat, Kohli, standing on the opposite side of the pitch, mimicked the wrestler’s famous “you can’t see me” pose while the entrance music played. Neither Phillips nor Daryl Mitchell seemed to notice the stunt, which quickly went viral on social media.

Kohli also made headlines with his batting, scoring 74 off 51 balls as India won by five wickets. The knock gave him a new record: he became the first batter to maintain an average above 50 in ODIs in all four SENA countries—South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia.

His ODI records by country are: - South Africa: 20 matches, 993 runs in 18 innings, average 76.38, 3 centuries, 6 fifties. - England: 36 matches, 1,493 runs, average 51.48, 1 century, 14 fifties. - New Zealand: 14 matches, 670 runs, average 51.53, 1 century, 5 fifties. - Australia: 32 matches, 1,401 runs, average 50.03, 5 centuries, 7 fifties.
