Bihar Health Department to Launch Recruitment for 11,000+ Posts by End of November
By Amit Bhelari

The Bihar Health Department will begin hiring for more than 11,000 administrative, technical and medical support positions. State Health Society Executive Director Nawal Kishore Chaudhary said on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, that the official recruitment notification is expected to be issued by the last week of the month. Preparations are almost complete, and a recruitment calendar will be released shortly. Updated vacancy details have been collected from all 38 districts, including district health institutions, Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres and Sub‑Divisional Hospitals. Positions to be filled in the first phase include Staff Nurses, Laboratory Technicians, managerial posts, Block Health Managers (BHM), NME personnel at the block level and clerical staff. Additional vacancies will be addressed in a second phase. Chaudhary said filling more than 11,000 posts will bring significant improvements to Bihar’s healthcare sector, providing dedicated teams at block and panchayat levels to support doctors and paramedical staff, improving primary healthcare in remote rural areas, aligning staff numbers with patient loads, and ensuring timely diagnostic reports. He added that appointing Block Health Managers and clerical staff will help deliver government health schemes more efficiently, transparently and quickly. The recruitment calendar is nearly finalized and will be made public once approved by the relevant authorities. The department aims to complete the entire recruitment process—including selection, document verification and appointment letters—in a transparent manner within six to seven months from the notification’s issuance.
