Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded U.S. first lady Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, 1st class, for her significant personal contribution to humanitarian support for Ukraine. The decree, dated November 2, 2026, cited her work helping Ukrainian children, including those deported or forcibly moved from Russian-occupied territory. The award honours women who have made exceptional contributions in science, education, culture and charitable work. Ukrainian officials said Ms. Trump played a pivotal role in organising a six‑day ceasefire that allowed civilians to be evacuated from the Russian‑occupied southern town of Oleshky. The ceasefire, which ended on Sunday, November 1, 2026, was the longest local pause in fighting since Russia’s full‑scale invasion in 2022, and nearly 800 people were evacuated, according to Ms. Trump.
