Actor Tusshar Kapoor Receives Extortion Call, Police Find No Link to Bishnoi Gang
By Ahmed Ali

MUMBAI – Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor said he received a phone call in which the caller demanded Rs 5 crore, claiming to be Harry Boxer of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A preliminary investigation by the Mumbai Crime Branch has ruled out any involvement of actual Bishnoi gang members in the threat. After informing Mumbai Police, Kapoor’s security detail was increased. The case has been transferred to the Crime Branch and its Anti‑Extortion Cell. Police technical analysts compared the audio of the call with official samples of Harry Boxer in their database and found no match. Authorities suspect an unidentified person may have impersonated a Bishnoi gang member and used the gang’s name to intimidate the actor and extort money. No First Information Report has been filed yet, as investigators continue to trace the origin of the recording and identify the caller.
