Messi Nears Historic Second MLS Golden Boot
Lionel Messi is on track to win a second consecutive Major League Soccer Golden Boot after Inter Miami defeated the New England Revolution 2-1. The Argentine forward scored the match‑winning goal in the 83rd minute, raising his league total to 26 goals and putting him four ahead of FC Dallas’s Petar Musa. With only one regular‑season game left, Messi, the 39‑year‑old eight‑time Ballon d’Or winner, could become the first player to win back‑to‑back MLS Golden Boots since the current goals‑based format began in 2005.
