The Pune unit of the Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) has booked retired deputy director of the Maharashtra agriculture department, Kiran Shamrao Jadhav, and his wife, Sangeeta Jadhav, in a disproportionate assets case. The ACB opened an inquiry after an order from its director‑general on 2 December 2025. The inquiry found that Jadhav’s assets were 128.7 % higher than his known sources of income, amounting to ₹4.37 crore (₹4,37,84,930) accumulated between 4 June 1994 and 2 December 2025. Jadhav is currently associated with the project director’s office of the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) in Solapur. He previously served as deputy director of agriculture in the vigilance squad and as a technical officer in the fertiliser quality control department. He retired on 31 July 2026. The inquiry also indicated that his wife allegedly assisted him in acquiring the assets through corrupt means. On 2 November, the ACB registered a case against the couple at Bundgarden police station under sections 13(1)(e) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and section 49 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The open inquiry was conducted by Additional Superintendent of Police Ajit Patil, and the investigation will be led by Additional Superintendent of Police Arjun Bhosale under the supervision of Pune ACB Superintendent of Police Shirish Sardeshpande.
