On Friday, October 30, 2026, the second phase of village panchayat elections for Sarpanch and Ward Panch positions was held in 22 districts of Rajasthan. While 45 Sarpanches had been elected unopposed earlier, 3,626 village panchayats went to the polls and 1.06 crore voters cast their ballots. Jaipur district’s Rampura Dabri recorded the highest voter turnout at 84.37%. Voters, including many elderly people and women, lined up in large numbers at polling booths, even in light rain and drizzle in places such as Kotputli‑Behror on the Jaipur‑Delhi national highway and the Malakhera area in Alwar district. Vote counting began immediately after polling ended, with results expected by late night. In Karanpur village of Dausa district’s Mahwa area, residents boycotted the poll in protest against the delimitation exercise. Villagers in Dausa’s Pyara Ka Nagla and Jalore’s Bawatra and Dayalpur also abstained from voting in protest over changes to their panchayats. Minor clashes occurred in Kotputli‑Behror’s Majra Aheer and Jodhpur’s Sangariya Phata over allegations of bogus voting; police intervened and restored order. The elections were reported on October 31, 2026 at 04:25 am IST.
