A strengthening cold front will bring scattered rain and intermittent sunshine to northern Vietnam, with temperatures dropping slightly. In the central region, heavy, continuous rain is expected, while the Central Highlands and southern areas will see sunny days with scattered rain in the late afternoon and evening. According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, the cold air mass moving eastward will keep northern Vietnam cloudy, with early‑morning fog and localized rain; the highest temperature will remain 31‑33 °C. In Hanoi, the day will be cloudy with sunny periods, and scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the night, with the maximum temperature falling to 32 °C. The combination of cold air and upper‑level easterly wind disturbances has produced heavy, continuous rainfall from Thanh Hoa to Hue City, with some areas receiving over 80 mm. From the evening of Oct. 27 to Oct. 29, cold air will continue to move southward, intensifying upper‑level disturbances. Weather in the Ha Tinh to Da Nang area will worsen, with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, rainfall ranging from 60‑120 mm and exceeding 250 mm in some spots. A special warning has been issued for localized heavy rainfall, exceeding 100 mm in just three hours. In southern Vietnam, rain remains concentrated in the late afternoon and evening, with a slight increase in area and intensity. Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Can Tho, and Ca Mau provinces will see rain over about half their area; Ca Mau and Can Tho may receive moderate rainfall. Other provinces and cities will experience less rain. On Oct. 28, as upper‑level wind disturbances intensify, rainfall will continue to rise across the south, with some areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain. Tidal surge conditions show that water levels at most stations on the lower Saigon River will continue to rise rapidly due to the high tide during the full moon of the ninth lunar month. The highest tide peak during this period will reach and exceed alert level 3, potentially flooding low‑lying areas and poorly drained roads. Weather details for the day: Hanoi – cloudy with sunny periods, scattered showers at night; lowest temperature 23‑26 °C, highest 30‑33 °C.
