UAE Looks at India’s BrahMos and Akashteer as Gulf Defence Priorities Shift

The United Arab Emirates is reportedly exploring the possibility of acquiring India’s BrahMos supersonic cruise missile and Akashteer air-defence system, a move that could mark a major step forward in India-UAE defence cooperation and strengthen India’s position as an emerging global defence exporter. The reported interest comes at a time when Gulf countries are reassessing their security needs amid rising regional tensions, drone threats, missile risks and the growing importance of protecting critical infrastructure, ports, energy facilities and airspace.
