UIDAI Extends Free Aadhaar Document Update Deadline Till June 14, 2027

Date:

UIDAI has extended the deadline for free online Aadhaar document updates by one more year, giving Aadhaar holders time until June 14, 2027, to upload proof of identity and proof of address documents through the myAadhaar portal without paying any fee. The facility is available only for online updates on the myAadhaar portal, while updates done at physical Aadhaar centres may still attract charges. The move is expected to benefit millions of users who need to revalidate or refresh their Aadhaar records, especially those whose details have not been updated for several years. To update documents online, users need to visit the myAadhaar portal, log in with their Aadhaar number and OTP, check existing details, select document update, upload valid identity and address proof, and submit the request. UIDAI has encouraged residents to keep their Aadhaar information accurate because updated records help ensure smoother access to banking, subsidies, mobile services, government schemes, and other Aadhaar-linked services. The extension also supports India’s digital governance push by allowing people to complete the process from home instead of visiting enrolment centres.
