Mexico City officials have released the official schedule for the musical performances taking place in the Zócalo on September 15 as part of the 2026 National Holidays celebrations. During a press conference, President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that several artists will perform on the stage set up in the historic square to commemorate the anniversary of Mexico's independence. The lineup includes the Navy Band, the mariachi band from the Ministry of National Defense, José Alfredo Jiménez Medel, Legado de Grandeza, and the three winners of the México Canta competition. Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada confirmed that the artistic program will begin at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, with performances starting at that time. The group Intocable is scheduled to take the stage at 9:45 p.m. Following their performance, the traditional "Grito de Independencia" ceremony will take place, followed by a fireworks display. After the official ceremony concludes, Intocable will resume their concert in the Zócalo. Admission to the event is free, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure good viewing spots. In addition to the Zócalo celebrations, free concerts will also be held across all of Mexico City's boroughs as part of the Independence Day festivities.
