Premier League Clubs Continue Transfer Activity: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United Explore New Deals

Although the summer transfer window has closed, Premier League clubs remain engaged in various transfer discussions ahead of the January window. Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are all reportedly exploring potential moves.

Arsenal have announced an agreement to sign Andria Bartishvili, who has drawn comparisons to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and continue to show interest in Kenan Yildiz and Eli Junior Kroupi. The club has also been linked with Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha. Additionally, Arsenal have received a boost in their long-standing pursuit of Julian Alvarez, as Barcelona are reportedly prioritising a move for Harry Kane instead.

Chelsea are expected to bring in a replacement for Enzo Fernandez during the January window. While the club may have stepped back from pursuing Lamine Camara, they have been linked with Marc Bernal and Manu Kone. Bournemouth's Alex Scott remains a long-term target for Chelsea. Meanwhile, Liverpool could emerge as a potential destination for Camara, and Bayern Munich are reportedly showing interest in Florian Wirtz.

In other news, Liverpool have confirmed that Calvin Ramsay has joined St Mirren on loan for the remainder of the 2026-27 season, pending international clearance.

Arsenal are also managing player departures, working to secure loan deals for younger players such as Tommy Setford, though no move is imminent. However, the club has decided to retain 18-year-old Evan Mooney, who joined from St Mirren earlier this year, despite interest from several clubs. Mooney will continue playing for the Under-21 side while training with the first team, with his situation to be reviewed in January.

Arsenal are set to confirm two new signings this week: Manchester United's Habeeb Ogunneye, a 20-year-old right-back who will join on a free transfer with a 40 per cent sell-on clause after completing his medical, and long-term target Igor Tyjon, whose move is also expected to be finalised soon.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa have had a bid rejected by Crystal Palace for striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, with the offer falling short of Palace's valuation of the 29-year-old. It remains unclear whether Villa will submit a second bid. Mateta is being considered as a potential replacement for Ollie Watkins, who is drawing interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. Villa have also approached AC Milan regarding winger Rafael Leao, who has reportedly expressed willingness to move; the two clubs are yet to negotiate terms.

Tottenham have confirmed the squad number for new signing Savio, formerly known as Savinho during his time at Manchester City. The Brazilian winger's transfer, finalised on Tuesday, is worth an initial £75 million, with a further £5 million in guaranteed add-ons and up to £5 million in additional performance-based bonuses, bringing the total potential value to £85 million. This marks a club-record sale for Manchester City and pushes Tottenham's summer spending past £300 million. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi praised Savio's "energy, imagination and quality in wide positions." The winger could feature in Tottenham's Carabao Cup match against Charlton.

Manchester United have reportedly received a boost in their pursuit of Alejandro Balde, although a move for Lewis Hall now appears unlikely. The club is seeking a long-term successor to Luke Shaw, who turned 31 in July and enters the final year of his contract, though United retain an option to extend it by one year. Hall had been considered a top target following his strong performances at Newcastle after joining from Chelsea in 2023.

Finally, Liverpool have received encouragement in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola, as Paris Saint-Germain appear open to allowing both Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye to leave before the transfer deadline. Talks between the two clubs have been ongoing for weeks, with Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola keen to strengthen his attacking options. Barcola remains the priority as Liverpool look for a replacement for the departed Mohamed Salah, though Mbaye is also drawing significant interest.
