Apple Releases iOS 27 With Faster Performance, Updated Siri, and Broad Device Support

Apple has begun rolling out iOS 27 to users, bringing several updates including refinements to its Liquid Glass design, app load times up to 30% faster, and improved search capabilities in Spotlight, Photos, and Mail. The update also introduces a revamped version of Siri powered by artificial intelligence, currently available in beta with English-only support. This AI-enhanced Siri will not be available at launch in the European Union, though support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish is planned for October. Along with iOS 27, Apple is simultaneously releasing iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 for compatible devices. Additional details on iOS 27 were previously shared during Apple's WWDC 2026 announcements. The rollout began at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. UTC), reaching millions of users worldwide at once. iOS 27 supports the same range of devices as iOS 26, meaning compatibility extends back to iPhones released in 2019, starting with the iPhone 11 series. The full list of supported iPhones includes the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17e, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE (2020), and iPhone SE (2022). As with previous updates, the rollout to individual devices may take time due to the large number of users receiving it simultaneously. Users can check availability by going to Settings, then General, then Software Update. One user reported testing iOS 27 on an iPhone 13 mini, noting the absence of AI features since the device does not support them, and offering positive feedback on the updated design, despite initially finding it a mix of retro and modern aesthetic styles.
