Owen Thiele Turns Albuquerque Flight Delay Into Airport Adventure With Andrew Garfield Nearby
An emergency landing that stranded a flight in Albuquerque for several hours turned into an unexpectedly fun outing for Adults star Owen Thiele. Thiele documented the entire experience on his Instagram Story on Wednesday night, later compiling highlights into a grid post.
The actor revealed that Andrew Garfield was also on the same flight, joking in one selfie caption that if the plane had gone down, news reports would have mentioned Garfield "and others" first, poking fun at his own relative anonymity compared to the bigger star.
Rather than simply waiting out the delay, Thiele quickly bonded with fellow stranded passengers. He posted a selfie with a group of people, writing that he had "made friends in the airport" and wasn't joking. The group grabbed drinks together at the airport before deciding to leave and visit a Dave & Busters in Albuquerque.
After returning to Albuquerque International Sunport, the group ordered food from PF Chang's. Although their order came out wrong, they made the most of it, filming a slow-motion video of themselves walking with their takeout bags set to Adéla's song "Ain't in LA."
Thiele eventually continued on to New York, later sharing that he and his newfound Albuquerque companions had started a group chat to stay in touch. The unplanned layover appeared to end on a positive note for Thiele and his new friends, though Garfield was not mentioned as joining in on the Dave & Busters trip.
