Amritsar West Concludes 10-Day Cleanliness Drive, MLA Vows Continued Civic Upgrades

A 10-day special cleanliness campaign for Amritsar West concluded on Monday at Sher Shah Suri Road under the leadership of MLA Dr Jasbir Singh Sandhu. Throughout the drive, cleanliness activities were carried out in various parts of the constituency, with roads, streets, parks and other public spaces cleaned as part of the initiative.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Sandhu said the government's aim was not just to make announcements but to deliver visible, on-the-ground work and better facilities for residents. He stated that fulfilling the trust placed in him by the people of Amritsar West was his responsibility, and that efforts to improve civic amenities in the constituency would continue.
Dr Sandhu clarified that the cleanliness campaign was not confined to the 10-day period but formed part of a broader, ongoing effort to enhance the constituency's environment and infrastructure. He noted that work was also underway to improve sewerage systems, roads and street lighting, along with other essential services. Additionally, he said long-standing public grievances were being addressed on a priority basis, with coordination among relevant departments to ensure quicker resolutions.
The MLA emphasized that politics should be centered on public service and development rather than the pursuit of power alone. He said he remained committed to staying accessible to residents, listening to their concerns, and raising these issues with the appropriate departments for swift action.
Dr Sandhu expressed gratitude to residents for their support during the cleanliness campaign, stressing that sustained cooperation between the government, administration and the public was key to keeping the constituency clean, well-developed and properly maintained.
