Shehbaz Sharif Praises Air Force Personnel on PAF Day, Cites 1965 and 2025 Achievements

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised all ranks of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for their exceptional performance throughout the organization's history. In a message issued to mark Pakistan Air Force Day, observed annually on September 7, the prime minister stated that the PAF has shown professional skill, strength and superiority in aerial combat over several decades.

"Pakistan Air Force has indeed displayed its professional capability, prowess and dominance in aerial conflicts for decades. This distinguished organisation has a proud history of sacrifice, valour and professionalism and has always responded to the nation's call with profound courage," he said.

Sharif recalled that in September 1965, the determination of PAF pilots to protect Pakistan's airspace led to victory in aerial battles, with many losing their lives defending the country. He said it was a matter of national pride to honor these fallen heroes for their ultimate sacrifices.

The prime minister also referenced more recent events, noting that in May 2025, when the country's peace was once again threatened by an aggressor, the PAF worked in close coordination with other branches of the armed forces to overcome the opponent during an operation referred to as Marka-i-Haq.

He credited this achievement to strong leadership, the tactical expertise of combat crews, thorough planning, and the effective use of multi-domain warfare capabilities. These capabilities, he noted, were developed over recent years through a broad strategy focused on modernization and self-reliance in defense production.

"The nation is proud that Pakistan Air Force once again upheld the glorious legacy of fighting valiantly, which has always been its hallmark," Sharif said.

Concluding his message, the prime minister expressed hope for the continued professional growth and success of the PAF, stating his confidence that the force would always be ready to defend Pakistan's sovereignty and airspace whenever needed.
