BJP Leader Nitin Nabin Highlights Advani’s Call for Opposition Support on Security Issues
By PTI

At a special event held at the BJP headquarters to mark L.K. Advani’s 100th birthday, party chief Nitin Nabin said Advani had been an inspiration for everyone in the organisation. Nabin recalled that Advani, a former deputy prime minister, had repeatedly stated that opposition parties should stand with the government on matters related to the country’s security. "Whenever he spoke in Parliament, he always said that the BJP would be with the government on issues related to the country's security despite being in the opposition," Nabin said. He added that the entire opposition should follow this example. Nabin noted he had not had the opportunity to work directly with Advani, but he had heard from others that Advani’s life was an inspiration for all BJP members. He praised Advani’s ability to make hard decisions simply and his dedication to the nation, especially after the pain of partition. "It was the leadership of Advani and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee that laid the foundation of the BJP's unwavering growth from a party of just two MPs, proving every naysayer wrong," Nabin said. Senior Union minister and party treasurer Piyush Goyal also spoke at the gathering, recalling his association with Advani and describing him as a selfless leader who called him ‘Happy’ rather than by his name. Goyal said that the hard work and commitment of leaders like Advani had helped the BJP’s Lok Sabha tally rise while the Congress’s fell. He wished Advani a long life and expressed hope that the country would continue to have leaders like him.}
