Residents Claim Former Neighbor Terrorised Them for Years Before Arrest

Residents near Bhashyam Circle in Rajajinagar described Indushekhar, the man accused of murdering seven family members, as a long‑time source of fear. After his arrest, the community said many had left the area because of the intimidation he inflicted. A chain‑snatching case had also been registered against him at Madanayakanahalli police station. Venkatesh, a stove repairer nearby, said, "Many residents have vacated the place, unable to bear the torture inflicted by Indushekhar. He was a nightmare in the colony." Anand E., president of a small political party that operates from a small space on the first floor below Indushekhar’s house, said he had been threatened by him. "When we moved into this space, our landlord asked us not to engage in conversations with Indushekhar, and we refrained from doing so. Once, when we held a meeting inside our makeshift office, he came, recorded videos and even threatened to expose us, although we were not doing anything wrong," he said. Residents also said Indushekhar used his YouTube channel, ‘Taana Varadi’, and his monthly tabloid as weapons. A worker at Shankar Watches, located on the ground floor, told The Hindu that Indushekhar had lived in the building for over 15 years and was friends with the landlord’s son. "Despite that, he filed a civil case claiming that the house where he was staying belonged to him. We are unsure how he managed to do that, but the case is ongoing, and in the meantime, the landlord died," the worker said.
