Forester Injured After Villagers Attack Team Tracking Cheetah in Rajasthan

A forester from Kuno National Park was injured when villagers assaulted his team while they were tracking cheetah KGP‑3 in Rajasthan’s Karauli district. The incident occurred after the cheetah killed a buffalo calf in the Mandrayal area, within the Chandelipura gram panchayat limits of the Mandrayal police station. Alok Prajapati, 34, filed a complaint on Tuesday against five to six unidentified villagers who allegedly approached the team, abused its members, threatened to kill him, and tried to strangle him while pelting stones. Prajapati also requested police protection for the forest team that was conducting night patrols. Mandrayal police station officer Jay Prakash Singh said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and an investigation is underway to identify the accused and take legal action.
