Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay Moves to Renovated Greenways Road Residence

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has begun moving into a new residence‑camp office on Greenways Road in Chennai. The bungalow, known as ‘Pamani Illam’, is located on Greenways Road in Raja Annamalaipuram and has been renovated by the Public Welfare Department. A pooja ceremony was held on Thursday at the site. The new location is about nine kilometres from the Secretariat, reducing Vijay’s travel distance from the previous 25‑kilometre one‑way trip to a shorter commute. Vijay’s former residence in Neelankarai required him to travel to the Secretariat at Fort St. George, a route that often caused traffic congestion during office hours. The new bungalow is equipped with a private gymnasium, a badminton court, a lawn and facilities to accommodate high‑profile security personnel. In addition to the residence, the Public Welfare Department has also renovated the 10th floor of Namakkal Kavignar Maligai on the Fort St. George campus, which will serve as Vijay’s office once the work is finished. The chief minister is expected to carry out his duties from the renovated office after the completion of the renovations.
