Over 120 Million Ticket Requests Flood ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 Ballot

With the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 ticket ballot closing on 21 November, more than 120 million requests have been received from fans worldwide. 2.8 million unique fans from 193 countries have registered interest, and over 32 million match registrations have been completed, showing demand beyond marquee fixtures. The 2027 tournament will feature 14 teams and 57 matches across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with 12 host cities offering fans a chance to experience cricket alongside local cultures.

South Africa, the United Kingdom, India, the United States and Australia lead the ballot registrations. Africa alone has generated over 14.9 million ticket applications. Fans can register until 23:59 CAT on 21 November at tickets.cricketworldcup.com; those who do not register during the window will not be able to purchase tickets through the ballot.

South Africa fixtures attracted more than 105 million requests across 41 matches at eight venues. Matches involving South Africa (11 fixtures, including the pre‑seeded Super 7 matches) amassed nearly 26 million requests. Zimbabwe’s total surpassed 13 million, with 3.3 million requests for the Zimbabwe v India clash on 24 October at the new Mosi‑oa‑Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls. Namibia saw over two million requests for six fixtures at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, including 900,000 for England v Bangladesh on 8 October.

The India v Pakistan match at the Wanderers Stadium on 10 October received 8,397,294 requests, while the final on 21 November at the same venue attracted 7,900,944 requests.

ICC General Manager, Events and Operations Gaurav Saxena said the response has been “outstanding” and reflects the global appeal of the tournament and the significance of returning to Africa after 24 years. He urged fans with less than 19 days left to register.

Local Organising Committee CEO Qondisa Ngwenya highlighted the extraordinary demand as evidence of excitement and an opportunity to showcase the people, cultures and hospitality of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia to a global audience.

The ballot is free, allows one entry per person per match, and is not first‑come, first‑served. If demand exceeds allocation, tickets will be awarded through a randomised ballot. Successful applicants will be notified by email with instructions for the purchasing process. Registration is done by creating an account at tickets.cricketworldcup.com and selecting preferred matches before the deadline. No tickets are purchased or paid for during the ballot process.
