Inde Navarrette Hosts SNL, Teases MCU Role and Satirizes Shane Gillis Monologue

By Glenn Garner

Inde Navarrette made her debut as a Saturday Night Live host after her “scream queen” appearance in Obsession. On the episode, she joked about preparing for her upcoming role as Rogue in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying, “So, every morning, I put on my little whore outfit and hit the gym.” She also clarified that she is not like the character Nikki from Curry Barker’s Obsession and introduced her boyfriend, who was taped to a studio audience chair. Navarrette’s opening monologue included a reference to Shane Gillis’s sexist opening during the previous episode. During the show, Marcello Hernandez appeared as a sexy TSA agent, Kam Patterson played Elizabeth Holmes, and Jeremy Culhane portrayed Wolverine, pitching himself for a role in an upcoming Jake Schreier‑directed film. Veronika Slowikowska and Grace Reiter performed as Kelly Clarkson and a mechanical singing bird involved in Clarkson’s online feud with a Brooklyn gift shop. In her first sketch, Navarrette and Hernandez played ghosts of 1930s children on the Queen Mary who distract a tourist from locating another ghost’s treasure. A fake Delta commercial featured a “Delta Disruptive” section for “crazy people,” with Mikey Day declaring, “This plane is made out of Israel,” while attempting to open an exit door. Navarrette also impersonated a social media figure who claimed, “She is not real!” She appeared in a sketch for The Uninterested Woman Dating Show as Dane, a contestant, alongside Jane Wickline and Sarah Sherman. In The Inventor, Navarrette played an inventor’s wife who discovers a robot named PD‑44 after her husband’s funeral; the robot later causes a violent incident involving a date played by Ben Marshall. Another sketch had Navarrette and Hernandez as Spanish soap opera stars asked to do product placement for Sprite Cherry Lime Habanero, which ends with a bizarre scenario involving the brand. In PAW Patrol: Special Victims Unit, Navarrette portrayed Ryder, a no‑nonsense investigator. The episode also featured Gracie Abrams as the musical guest, marking her second appearance after her 2024 debut.
