Gujarat has launched a new premium sightseeing transport service featuring air‑conditioned Vista Dome Coach buses that provide panoramic views of the state’s natural landscapes, historical monuments and cultural attractions. The initiative, a joint effort by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and Gujarat Tourism, aims to give domestic and international visitors a more comfortable and immersive way to explore popular tourist destinations. According to the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), five specially designed AC Vista Dome buses were manufactured to international standards. The first service was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ekta Nagar, the site of the Statue of Unity, and the Prime Minister travelled aboard one of the buses.

The buses feature a transparent sky‑view roof with a distinctive dome shape, allowing passengers to enjoy uninterrupted views while travelling in air‑conditioned comfort. Each bus seats 23 passengers plus a separate driver seat. The cabin includes revolving, fully adjustable reclining seats and premium amenities such as an LED smart television, CCTV cameras, a coffee and tea‑making machine, a mini refrigerator and mobile charging points. Safety features include an advanced fire detection and suppression system, toughened glass, and emergency hammers for evacuation.

The first Vista Dome bus service operates at Ekta Nagar, where the Statue of Unity is located. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said similar services will be introduced in phases at other prominent tourist destinations and heritage routes across the state. The buses’ exteriors are decorated with graphics of attractions such as the Statue of Unity, Akshardham Temple, Somnath Temple, Dwarka Temple, Gir National Park, Adalaj Stepwell, the White Rann of Dhordo, Tarnetar Fair and Vijay Vilas Palace.

Tourists can book tickets through the official GSRTC website. Of the five buses planned, two have been inaugurated; the remaining three are scheduled for introduction within the next two months. The Vista Dome buses are part of Gujarat’s broader efforts to improve tourism infrastructure and offer premium travel experiences, adding a new dimension to sightseeing in the state and enhancing its appeal to domestic and international visitors.
