Tej Pratap Yadav Urges More Security After Reality Show Appearance
By PTI

Janshakti Janta Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav has asked the central and Bihar governments to increase his security after his recent appearance on a reality show, citing a surge in popularity and large crowds that gather around him. In a post on X, Yadav said that fans often surround him for photographs, creating a threat to both his safety and that of the single security guard assigned to him. He warned that the guard could be overwhelmed by crowds or risk having his government‑issued weapon snatched. Yadav said he has repeatedly informed the central and state governments of his security concerns, both verbally and in writing, but his security cover has not been enhanced. He urged authorities to act immediately, asking who would be responsible if an incident were to occur. Yadav clarified that his demand is for necessary protection, not special privileges. He was expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal on 25 May last year by his father Lalu Prasad after a brief controversy, and later formed his own party, the Janshakti Janta Dal.
