EPFO Marks 74th Foundation Day with Call for Worker‑Centric Innovation

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) celebrated its 74th Foundation Day on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya opened the event, urging EPFO staff to focus on worker‑centric innovations across domains, adapt and build resilience, and evolve processes in line with changing times. He noted that the trust placed in the organisation is reflected in the ₹32 lakh crore corpus accumulated through contributions from more than eight crore members, made possible by the dedication, hard work and commitment of the EPFO workforce. Mandaviya added that social security must be driven by human sensitivity and that every concern and grievance of workers should be addressed with compassion and empathy. Union Labour Secretary Chandra Bhushan Kumar said the EPFO laid the foundation of and strengthened India’s social security framework, creating a model worth emulating for future generations. He added that social protection and labour reforms must reach not only the organised sector but also unorganised sector workers at the last mile, and that the EPFO had set an example of how to achieve this through institutionalised processes. Central Provident Fund Commissioner Ramesh Krishnamurthi acknowledged the contribution of officers and employees across the country and said there was a need to make the EPFO more accessible, reliable and humane.
