Brentford Manager Warns of Nottingham Forest’s Potential Threat

Brentford manager Keith Andrews says the club’s 18th‑place standing does not reflect the danger posed by Nottingham Forest, who have won only one of their eight games this season. According to Andrews, the Tricky Trees would be 15 places higher under the xG model, behind only Arsenal and Manchester City. The Bees are sixth in the Premier League with one defeat, but they lost 3‑2 to bottom‑placed Sunderland in the Carabao Cup last‑16. Andrews added, “It’s a good game for us. I couldn’t wait for the Sunderland game to come around after the Hull game, and, similarly with the disappointment of going out of the cup, I was very much onto this one from the bus journey back from the Stadium of Light.” He noted that “Results-wise they might not be in the best position but performance-wise they certainly are. If they continue performing the way they are, they will be in a very different position.” The manager also said the team will be aware of Forest’s plan and that the energy from home fans will be important. Midfielder Fábio Carvalho will miss the match until after the November international break, as will left‑back Rico Henry. Oliver Glasner can rely on Dan Ndoye, Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs‑White in the front line for the Gtech Community Stadium game. Andrews concluded, “I’m expecting the toughest game we’ve had in the last seven to eight days. They’ve played very well in games and have some magnificent players who can hurt you if given the opportunity.”
