Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian "Bash" Croft Win Celebrity Traitors Final, Splitting £83,000 for Charity

The second series of BBC One’s The Celebrity Traitors concluded on Friday with a dramatic final that saw 21 original contestants reduced to seven before the endgame, and ultimately to two winners. Comedian Romesh Ranganathan and Heartstopper actor Sebastian "Bash" Croft emerged victorious, sharing an £83,000 prize that will be donated to the Refugee Council and Choose Love.

During the final round, the remaining contestants gathered around a fire pit to determine whether any traitors remained. After a tied vote between YouTuber King Kenny and singer James Blunt, Bash persuaded Ranganathan to banish Kenny, securing victory for the faithful team. Kenny later expressed disappointment, saying he had been “so close” to winning.

James Blunt was subsequently evicted after a second round of voting, leaving Ranganathan and Bash as the final two. Bash, 24, described the moment as “the best day of my life” and noted the potential career boost from the win. Ranganathan said he hoped his mother and youngest son would be proud.

Other contestants were eliminated during the endgame, including Love Island host Maya Jama, Little Mix singer Leigh‑Anne Pinnock, and actor Michael Sheen, who was murdered in the first action of Friday’s episode. Earlier departures included Ross Kemp, Jerry Hall, Miranda Hart, Joe Lycett, Hannah Fry and Amol Rajan.

The series also featured two contestants who voluntarily revealed themselves as traitors: actor Richard E. Grant in episode two and comedian James Acaster in the penultimate episode. Acaster’s confession prompted a welfare check by production staff, who confirmed that participant safety is a top priority.

Despite record‑breaking ratings, some viewers noted a lack of dramatic back‑stabbing and explosive conflict compared to previous seasons. Nonetheless, the final episode was likely the most‑watched TV programme of the year.

The show’s spin‑off, Uncloaked, did not feature Acaster, who had not appeared in the episode following the final.
