Arsenal’s 16‑year‑old Max Dowman was shown his first professional red card in the Carabao Cup match against Fleetwood on Tuesday. The straight‑red was issued in the final ten minutes after Dowman reacted to a heavy challenge from a Fleetwood player. He appeared to kick out at the opponent, prompting both teams to rush onto the pitch and a brawl to erupt along the touchline. Once the situation was contained, the referee issued the red card for Dowman’s reaction. The match had been paused earlier in the opening ten minutes when an unauthorised drone was spotted hovering over the stadium.
