Kevin Bacon Celebrates 38 Years of Marriage to Kyra Sedgwick with Heartfelt Tribute

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on September 4 with a warm public tribute. The 68-year-old actor shared a photograph on Instagram showing the couple smiling in the backseat of a car, dressed in formal attire. He captioned the post, "38 years with my love," which drew nearly 300,000 likes.

Bacon and Sedgwick, 61, first met in 1987 while working together on the television movie Lemon Sky and married the following year. The couple share two children, son Travis, 37, and daughter Sosie, 34, both of whom appear alongside their parents in the upcoming horror film Family Movie.

In August, the family made a rare joint red carpet appearance at the Scary Movies XIV showcase at Lincoln Center in New York City, with Travis joining his parents for the event. Family Movie is a horror-comedy directed by Bacon and Sedgwick, featuring the couple and their children in starring roles. Announcing the project on Instagram, Bacon wrote, "It's official!! #FamilyMovie will officially be releasing in theaters April 23, 2027! We can't wait to share this with all of you. Stay tuned!"

Sedgwick also posted about the premiere to her 1.2 million followers, calling the event "gory good" and expressing excitement for the film's theatrical release next spring. According to Deadline, the movie follows a filmmaking family called the Smiths, whose low-budget horror project turns into a real-life nightmare when a body appears on set, forcing them to keep production moving amid the chaos.

Actress and social media personality Liza Koshy also teased her involvement in the project, sharing a promotional poster and joking about her character's fate in the film ahead of its spring 2027 release.

The anniversary tribute followed another public display of affection from Bacon on August 19, when he marked Sedgwick's birthday with a video montage and the caption, "Happy birthday @kyrasedgwickofficial, to another year of loving you." Sedgwick responded in the comments, writing, "Omgggg love this my love."

Their daughter Sosie also honored her mother's birthday with a tribute post, describing her as "fierce and goofy" and expressing gratitude for having her as a parent. Travis shared a throwback photo from the set of the 1992 film Singles, in which he appeared as a toddler alongside his mother, her co-star Matt Dillon, and director Cameron Crowe, joking about having "ruined the Singles poster shoot."

Sedgwick marked her own birthday with a post featuring both recent and past red carpet photos, writing, "61 years on this Earth today, and I'm grateful for every single one of them!"
