NFL Declares No Issue Over Aikman‑Buck Tension on Monday Night Football
By Mark Maske

The NFL said it has no concern about the reported disagreement between ESPN’s Monday Night Football hosts Troy Aikman and Joe Buck. Hans Schroeder, the league’s chief media officer, told a news conference at the end of a two‑day owners’ meeting in Manhattan that the game in Santa Clara, California, was a strong example of the duo’s production quality. He added that the league is not involved in any contractual matters. Aikman, who will become a free agent after the Super Bowl, confirmed that he will continue to broadcast through the season and may explore other NFL roles afterward. He had previously served as a consultant for the Dolphins, but does not have a formal ongoing agreement with the team. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed pride in Aikman’s career and noted that the former quarterback is capable of pursuing various football‑related positions. The NFL has applied the same team‑access restrictions to Aikman this season as it did to Tom Brady, due to Brady’s dual role as a Raiders part‑owner and Fox analyst.}
